Rotamix – Digester nozzles

Rotamix - Digester nozzles

How it works:
The Rotamix system incorporates several basic principles of physics and hydraulics, including the concepts of uniform flow at the periphery and vortex at the center, induced flow and contact surface. The Vaughan grinder pump re-circulates the sludge through the ROTAMIX nozzles.

The nozzle is static, with no moving parts. No shafts, gears, etc. are needed for orientation. We can completely empty the tank without the need for auxiliary equipment.

We avoid the formation of crusts/foams and sedimentation. We can agitate sludge up to 8 – 10 % concentration. We guarantee a perfect mixing without being influenced by the liquid level. The feed to the centrifuge is constant, without oscillations or water hammer, to improve performance and reduce maintenance.

Solid particles are reduced in size each time they are pumped through the grinder pump, making them more sensitive to chemical and biological attack. We facilitate the reduction of volatile solids.

We can guarantee that in one hour we put in suspension at least 90% of the total content of the tank. We can operate in a discontinuous working regime to reduce consumption.

We can accommodate any size and shape of tank, whether buried or above ground, in both existing and new tanks. In new tanks, we can simplify construction and cost by eliminating costly cones, using flat bottoms and reducing the thickness of the dome, as there is no equipment to hang.

10-year factory warranty on nozzles against abrasive wear.

We can combine single or double nozzles, depending on the tank radius and volume to be mixed. There is also the alternative of wall mounting.

Nozzle material

  • Special cast iron with cement parts. 25 mm thick.
  • Ceramic glaze on the inside and front face of the nozzle. Zinc anodes protect against galvanic corrosion.
  • Hardness 73 C Rockwell.
  • SSPC-SP5 blasting nozzle exterior.
  • Optional in other materials. Also in plastic.
