The Ultrachem series centrifugal pumps from Finish Thompson Inc. are metal pumps with the inside of the body coated in Teflon TEFZEL. They are manufactured according to ANSI standards.
Some of its advantages are:
- Body internally lined with pure Tefzel.
- Exclusive “Easy Set Outer Drive” design, which facilitates the assembly of the drive magnet on the drive shaft. In addition, it eliminates any errors in mounting and alignment between shafts.
- Impeller and magnet, in two pieces. It facilitates maintenance and future costs, since we can change the impeller without having to completely change the secondary magnet.
- Simple, ceramic shaft support design.
- IEC B5 motor flange, optional with NEMA flange.
- Optional with bronze ring, for pump mounting in ATEX zone.
- Ductile iron pump exterior, which allows for higher pipe loads.
- Dimensions according to ANSI B73.1 standard.
- Concentric pumping body, reduces radial load across the entire flow and improves reliability.
- The design with two bushings reduces stress by 1/3.
- The monobloc mounting facilitates alignment and avoids premature bushing wear due to misalignment. The bushings are available in graphite (with limited dry running capability), the option of Silicon Carbide or Sic Dri-Coat limits dry running. Depending on the material, we can achieve up to 10 min of dry running.
- A very thin layer is used on both the bushings and the shaft. This thin, diamond-hard layer is inert to chemical attack, with a very low coefficient of friction, ideal for dry running applications.
- This series is limited to pumping suspended solids.
- It is not recommended to exceed 5% solids by weight.
- The maximum recommended size would be 0.05 mm and 0.4 mm occasionally.
- The maximum hardness would be 80 HS (Shore Scleroscope Hardness).
